Young Basadzi Women Of Poetry

Thursday: 17h30 - 19h30: Functions Room

Nowadays PoetsExperience the world of rhythm and poetry through eyes of the female folk. Let the poetic vocab ring though the souls of the all men, woman and children. Our sisters, mothers and children shall sing the words of change, though romance, story-telling and comedy.
Women are invited to come together to share, showcase, develop and celebrate their works in written expressions. This exciting venture by Young Basadzi Projects is yet another effort in providing a platform where women are able to share their thoughts and ideas, communicate their frustrations and pains, aspirations and life’s resolutions whilst putting it down onto paper… into spoken word.
The possibilities are endless, and we urge all women to join us in this revolutionary journey that sees women, from all walks of life expressing themselves in every (literary) way we know how.
We meet at the Bat Centre, home to the arts in Durban.  A venue to see us all celebrating the arts whilst empowering women writers of our times.
“Every Thursdays, join us for the interactive and mind-blowing experience we have yet to explore!”

The BAT Centre is an art development and community center located within the small Craft Harbour off Durban’s Victoria Embankment. It contains a number of retail outlets, a restaurant, bar and large hall fitted with sound and lighting equipment. There are large art studios, a number of exhibition galleries, music practice rooms, a dance studio, resource center and a conference room. A computer shop, repair and training service and offices for independent arts organizations complete the picture.
