About Light and Space

The photos are used as formal indicators which are used to express feelings and emotions which are developed as ideas about LIGHT and SPACE. It is a challenge to represent what is seen and let others see it by taking good photographs, even though it is always there, people might not be aware of it. So EMPTY SPACES with limited amounts of light have to be something that one is drawn in and enjoys taking photographs of those EMPTY SPACES. I see my emotions and myself as the subject of the work where the viewer is included in my idea of a shared humanity. The viewer must be able to communicate with my photographs by interpreting the works. I am trying to suggest the idea of my own emptiness that I feel even though I am present. I am making my own world which I am comfortable with. The works are UTOPIAN; they become my own reality, a window to my peaceful world which is quiet and harmless. “Nobody can understand or penetrate meaning by accepting the surface”. I wish my work to explore my own isolation from the rest of the world. The works are a means whereby I explore the idea of resolution. I have always worked in isolation and embraced the idea of the outsider. However I am able to seek and find others and seldom feel remote. I have the ability to absorb the normal critique of the self. My idea is basically about defining myself as a subject, what I like and what I believe in. I accept that the emotions that I have when I look at my photographs is different from the viewers’ emotions. My intention is to not lie to myself. I might end up convincing other of something that I don’t believe in and produce work just to please others., and also teach them of history of ar
