This auditorium is the site of the main events held at the BAT. It can hold up to 750 people or 500 people seated and has dressings rooms and ablution facilities. Three phase power is supplied, as well as normal electrical points and the facility has a basic stage which is available. Facilities exist for lighting to be brought in. This conference center is self contained and has seating for up to 70 people, cinema style. A full range of facilities exist for your convenience, including:

• Air conditioning
• White Board and Flip Chart
• Over Head Projector
• Screen
• Small Theatre System
• PA System and microphones

This venue can accommodate 40 people and is ideal for workshops and meetings. The bar is easily accessible and catering can be arranged with the restaurant. The Functions Room can be hired hourly. Click here to find out more

The Dance Studio is an open space ideally suited for rehearsals, workshops, art shows, lectures and so forth. The venue can seat 100 people and the floors are sprung to accommodate dancers. Read more

The site of most of our art exhibition openings, the Menzi Mchunu Gallery is suspended on a mezzanine floor, just off the foyer. The gallery is named after one of Durban's finest artists who disappeared in the early 1990's.  The gallery opens out onto a balcony overlooking the small craft harbour and lends itself to exhibitions.

The deck of the BAT Centre stretches for most of the buildings length and offers panoramic views of Durban's working harbour. This venue is ideal for parties and functions. The bar is easily accessible and the atmosphere relaxed.

The BAT Studio is home to a number of resident artists, where they produce, display and sell their artworks. Visitors are urged to browse thought the studio and watch the artists in action.
