The visual art exhibition project seeks to promote and nurture the talents of young and established artists. This project is dedicated to the  unearthing and promoting the talents of both young and professional artists especially from the KZN province. The project is an on-going process where the participating artists are contacted whenever their information is needed by the people who want to buy their artworks and others.
The centre has two main galleries, which are used for exhibitions. These galleries are the Menzi Mchunu Gallery, which is big and spacious and the Democratic Gallery. Professional artists use the former gallery while young and upcoming artists use the later to exhibit artworks especially those who have never exhibited before. The project aims to involve the artists in the initial stage of the exhibition until the exhibition has been executed. In this process, an element of education is introduced in order to assist the artists to produce a good quality of artworks.
While care is taken to ensuring that the artists are able to produce works, there is also a need that arises from artists in acquiring the relevant materials i.e. the surplus of special wood or art material. In this instance the artists will be able to use the right material thereby producing work of high quality. The project also seek to assist the artists in choosing themes that they could use for that particular exhibitions i.e. issues related to HIV/AIDS, abuse, social development, traditional customs etc. One particular theme that has been successful in this instance is Heritage Day exhibition. In this exhibition, artists are encouraged to work on themes that are related to our heritage. We are hoping to extend this exhibition by celebrating different cultures and nations each year
The BAT enjoys history of exhibiting works of artists from diverse cultural backgrounds in keeping with with the democratic South Africa’s vision of a “Rainbow Nation” that is comprised of multi-cultural society.Pots
